Gladys
Abankwa-Meier-Klodt, M.Sc.
Born
into a dual career diplomatic family, Ms Abankwa-Meier-Klodt spent the bulk of
her child and young adulthood living in cultures other than her passport
country, Ghana.
Married to a German diplomat since 1988, and raising two bi-cultural children,
she has used her personal experience to set up support networks and assist
others in places as disparate as St. Petersburg (Russia), Berlin and New York
City. She has worked as a microbiologist, a relocation consultant,
an interior designer, a newspaper editor and a project manager, and is
proficient in
four languages. For several years, Ms Abankwa-Meier-Klodt headed the
Foreign-born Spouses
Committee of the Family Liaison Service of the Federal Foreign Office, Berlin, and held the
position of the Berlin Community leader for the former U.S.-based expatriate
online community, ExpatSpouse.com.
Following 3 years in Moscow, and
the same amount of time in Berlin, she now spends most of her time in London,
England.
